Eclipse Flat Ribbon Piston

 

The Eclipse Flat Ribbon Nitinol Piston is a shape memory design that negates the need for manual crimping. The wide ribbon helps protect the incus during heat application.  The heat activated Eclipse has a unique shape memory zone which ensures complete (360º) gentle closure around the incus.  The shape memory zone also reduces the chances of the piston body lifting from the vestibule.

Platinum/Fluoroplastic Piston

 

The Grace Piston is constructed of a platinum loop with fluoroplastic shaft, designed for use in stapedotomy procedures. The wide platinum ribbon is not only easier to crimp, it retains its bend without “spring-back” and prevents rolling of the prosthesis while crimping.

Titanium Piston

 

Titanium is a lightweight, biocompatible material that provides good sound conduction to help treat conductive hearing loss. The prosthesis replaces the stapes and restores the ossicular chain.

Megerian Nitinol SRP

 

The Megerian Stapes Replacement Prothesis is a heat activated, nitinol stapes replacement prosthesis. The piston features 6 tapered nitinol arms that follow the natural contour of the incus. With this unique design, the surgeon can adapt the SRP for use with a necrosed incus. The Megerian SRP ranges in lengths from 4.00mm to 5.00mm in quarter millimeter increments.

Kraus K-Helix Piston

 

The Kraus K-Helix Prosthesis (endohelix prostheses) is a novel, titanium middle ear prostheses that has been designed specifically for reconstruction of the ossicular chain.  When used with middle ear cements, such as glass ionomer cement, endoskeletal ossicular reconstruction is possible. The prosthesis serves as  “rebar” for the cement.   The unique design permits the prostheses to be adjusted by expanding the coils to increase length or by removing extra coils to make it shorter. The piston may be used with a mobile or immobile footplate. A footplate shoe is available when used with a mobile footplate.
